    Job Overview

    The Payroll Administrator reports to and takes direction from is responsible for the Payroll Supervisor. The primary responsibility of the Payroll Administrator is the collection, verification, and processing of all information related to the administration of employee payroll and for providing general administrative support.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintains attendance, regular time, overtime, and leave records in order to calculate pay and benefits entitlements
    • Enters time sheets into computerized system and calculates safety bonuses and other special payments or bonuses
    • Enters, maintains, and audits employee changes to ensure payroll calculations are accurate
    • Prepares statements of earnings which indicate gross and net salaries and detail deductions for tax, pension, dues, and other items
    • Provides all required information to banking institutions, including employment verification.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Post-secondary education with payroll experience
    • Experience in union remittance 
    • Experience with CMIC is an asset
    • High attention to detail and accuracy
    • Experience in MS Office programs
    • Able to maintain internal controls.
